Tabasco sauce has been made on Avery Island, Louisiana, since the 1800s. Crystal's creamed wildflower honey comes from our hives in the same state, with our 3rd-generation beekeeping farm in Jennings and Bunkie.
When you combine these two star ingredients with Cabot butter and Cajun seasoning, you get warm, slightly smoky wings with a soft, floral finish that keeps you going back in for more.
Our Louisiana wildflower honey brings floral, slightly savory notes that make the heat work. The raw honey is creamed, which makes the sauce glossy and easy to soften into the butter without clumping or separation. No refined sugar needed.
We also tried out this recipe with our raw honey varietals, particularly our New York wildflower raw honey and it worked perfectly, too. You can use any wildflower honey you have on hand for this recipe.
Hot Honey Cajun Chicken Wings with Wildflower Honey
Ingredients:
2 lbs chicken wings, patted dry
⅓ cup Cajun seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
(if not already in your Cajun blend)
For the glaze:
3 tbsp butter (unsalted if the Cajun seasoning has salt)
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
A couple of dashes of Tabasco
⅓ cup wildflower honey like Louisiana Creamed Wildflower Honey
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F, line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Coat wings with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt/pepper; spread in a single layer on parchment.
- Bake for 45–60 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in Cajun seasoning, hot sauce, and Louisiana Wildflower Honey until smooth.
- Toss hot wings in the glaze and serve immediately.
